There’s always a little bit of confusion on the release dates of games here in Canada especially in the province of Quebec. We usually get games one or two days after the official North American launch date, nothing very problematic there but the weird thing is the date is never consistent between retailers. For example Futureshop had it on the 14th, Bestbuy today the 13th and Amazon.ca yesterday. I wanted to get my hands on this game as soon as possible so I tried my luck this morning and got rewarded with a Get!
When I arrived to the store and made my way to the Wii section there was no Super Mario Galaxy to be found. A fairly common situation so I logically proceeded to the next step — ask a sales associate. Found one and asked him where the Marios could be found, to my surprise they were handing them out right at the cashes, and so this epic adventure ends here.
Rushed back home, inserted the disk in the Wii, low batteries, inserted new ones. I did the three main stars of the Good Egg Galaxy and so far I’m loving it. The good thing is most of the previews, screenshots and videos out there about Galaxy are from the first galaxy so there’s still plenty to discover and be amazed with.
You have probably read reviews already, but yes, it looks incredibly good, controls are spot on, music is freaking awesome and the level design is better than any other 3D platformer ever. I already have 20 lives but I’m sure the will start to drop fast near the end, after all, I’m playing Super Mario Bros 3 and I went from 59 lives to 41 in about 5 minutes. Now excuse me, for I will go collect more starts.
