Here’s a thwomp papercraft I made, the download link is just below. The actual model is in color but my printer ink cartridge was empty so I had to print mine in grayscale. I took the thwomps in Super Mario Galaxy as the reference and I think it turned out pretty well. When completed it actually looks and even feels pretty solid if you hold it in you hand.
I would love to see how it turns out in color and with different hands, so please send me some pictures of your thwomps at: prime[at]moreprime.com

Notes:
- Make a seam with a sharp object on the fold lines, it will help a lot.
- Cut the center of the front piece to have room for your fingers.
- The spikes are a pain to make but the more you do the easier it gets.
- Sticking the backside and the faces should be the last step.
- When I was a kid, I always thought they looked like cookies in Super Mario Bros. 3.
Points visits two little video games stores in Tokyo, Meteor and Suteki. My favorite part is the old school game soundtracks on vinyl, that Disco Space Invaders sounds pretty good.

This is a nice easy papercraft rendering in a really cute way the, using Tubbypaws terminology, “magic doors” of Portal. While you’re at it you can draw hearts on the cubes and you’ll get some weighted companion cube in the scene for extra coolness. If you haven’t played portal yet, please do so, it’s one of my favorite games this year and it comes part of The Orange Box which must be the deal of the decade.
Make sure you also take a look at the Silent Hill 2 papercraft for more awesome cute paper models.

Finally received my feather pen stylus, you could get one by registering The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass on the Nintendo website. I’m not sure if the offer is still available, but it’s free so it be worth finding out. Nothing extraordinary here, just transparent plastic with the same kind of tip most stylus have, but I still nice to have.
In Japan they have Club Nintendo where you can get tones of stuff with points you gain registering products, it would be nice to get the same thing here but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon. So let’s hope this kind of promotion end up happing more often.
